Raw Materials. Responsibly Sourced. Rigorously Tracked.

Sustainability begins long before production, it starts at the source. At PI Industries, we’re rethinking how raw materials are selected, sourced, and managed to reduce environmental impact and improve supply chain transparency. Our approach to raw materials balances performance, circularity, and compliance, ensuring that every input aligns with our planet-first ethos.

Sourcing That Supports a Greener Future

We don’t just choose materials. We choose partners, traceability, and impact.

Stringent Supplier Assessments

All raw material suppliers are evaluated on environmental compliance, ethical practices, and alignment with our ESG standards. Every supplier must meet PI’s EHS and regulatory benchmarks.

Greener Material Substitution

We actively explore green chemistry alternatives that reduce toxicity, enable safer handling, and lower lifecycle emissions. Ongoing initiatives to replace hazardous intermediates with sustainable equivalents.

Waste & Residue Recovery Integration

Select raw materials are chosen for compatibility with our solvent recovery and closed-loop manufacturing systems. Supports circularity and minimises waste.

Localisation Where Feasible

We prioritise sourcing materials closer to our manufacturing sites to reduce transport-related emissions. Lower Scope 3 emissions and faster traceability.

Digital Traceability & Risk Monitoring

We use digital tools to map, monitor, and audit raw material flows—ensuring consistency, quality, and accountability. Helps identify ESG risks early and drive continuous improvement.

Driving Impact at the Source

We look beyond availability and cost, evaluating environmental compatibility, end-of-life impact, and future readiness.

Water-Smart by Design

From zero-liquid discharge systems to community water stewardship, our efforts address water across its entire lifecycle. We integrate water conservation into the design of our manufacturing units, operational systems, and local engagement models. Our facilities are engineered to reduce dependence on freshwater sources while eliminating untreated discharge into the environment.

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)

Two of our key manufacturing facilities, Udaipur and Panoli, operate as Zero Liquid Discharge units. Ensures that no untreated wastewater is released into the environment.

High-Efficiency Recovery Systems

We deploy multi-effect evaporators (MEE), reverse osmosis (RO), and condensate recovery systems to maximise internal reuse. 38,870 KL of water recovered at Jambusar through RO systems.

Water Intensity Reduction

We track and reduce water usage per unit of production, with targeted reductions at each site.
24% reduction in groundwater withdrawal at our Udaipur site (FY25).

Rainwater Harvesting & Recharge

We invest in harvesting infrastructure and recharge wells to restore local groundwater tables, particularly in high-stress zones.

Community Water Programs

We engage with rural communities to improve access to clean water through rejuvenation of ponds, tanks, and sanitation infrastructure.

Water Management Policy Commitments

Guided by efficiency, circularity, and conservation our water management approach focuses on reducing withdrawal, enhancing recycling, and ensuring zero liquid discharge across operations.

Waste Management: Mapped, Minimised,
and Reimagined

Our approach to waste is guided by a closed-loop mindset and compliance with the highest environmental standards. From process innovation to solvent recovery, we engineer our operations to generate less waste, and handle it more responsibly when it does arise.

Built on Responsibility, Backed by Data

Our waste strategy focuses on maximising reuse and recycling while ensuring full regulatory compliance and continuous process improvement at source.

Designing for Circularity

From process innovation to solvent recovery, we engineer our operations to generate less waste and handle it more responsibly when it does arise.

High-Efficiency Recovery Systems

We deploy multi-effect evaporators (MEE), reverse osmosis (RO), and condensate recovery systems to maximise internal reuse. 71,243 kilolitres of water recovered through reverse osmosis systems.

Safe Disposal, No Compromise

Waste that cannot be reused is safely managed via incineration, landfilling, or co-processing, under strict regulatory control.

Solvent Recovery Systems

Integrated at key manufacturing sites, these systems reduce chemical waste and enable reuse of valuable materials.

E-Waste and Hazardous Waste Protocols

Specialised vendors handle e-waste and hazardous waste streams in compliance with national guidelines.

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD)

ZLD systems ensure that liquid waste is fully treated and reused, with no untreated effluents leaving the site.
