Shaping the Future of
Industrial Safety in India.
PI Industries, in partnership with the Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM), is advancing the nation’s safety ecosystem through the PI Centre of Excellence for Industrial Safety & Risk Management.
PI Centre of Excellence for Industrial Safety & Risk Management
To respond to the evolving risk landscape, PI Industries, through PI Foundation, has partnered with the Gujarat Institute of Disaster Management (GIDM) to establish the PI Centre of Excellence for Industrial Safety & Risk Management at the GIDM campus. The Centre of Excellence was conceived to address Industrial Safety and Risk challenges at a systemic level, moving beyond one-time interventions to build sustained capacity, knowledge, and preparedness across the industrial ecosystem.
The Centre is designed as a long-term, comprehensive intervention for

Advancing the Foundations of Industrial Safety
Embedding safety and preparedness into systems that sustain industrial growth.
The Centre of Excellence is strategically designed to operate at the intersection of industry, academia, and government, creating multiplier effects across the safety ecosystem.
Its importance lies not only in individual programmes, but in its ability to
- Institutionalise safety thinking across roles and generations
- Strengthen preparedness at cluster and state levels
- Bridge education, practice, and policy
- Create scalable models that can be replicated beyond Gujarat
Strategic Value Delivered
- Risk reduction: Improved preparedness in high-hazard sectors
- Capability creation: Skilled professionals and safety leaders
- Continuity: Knowledge systems that outlast individual interventions
- Scalability: Frameworks that can extend nationally over time
Strengthening Safety at Systemic Scale
Vision
To build resilient ecosystems that reduce industrial disaster risks and safeguard communities against their impacts.
