Introduction

Kimbo is a selective herbicide. It provides effective control of broad leaved weeds, grasses and sedges in Soyabean and Groundnut.

Features & Benefits

  • Kimbo is systemic in action and provides superior control of key broadleaf and sedge weeds in soybean in addition to suppression of key grasses.
  • It is safe to soybean as well as key succeeding crops at recommended dose
  • It controls weed before they emerge out of soil surface hence they do not cause any losses to the crop.
  • It provides hassle free weed control where sowing and herbicide application can be completed in thesame timeframe.
  • It can control key weeds which are gaps in existing products

Method of Application

  • Apply Diclosulam 84% WDG as pre-e,ergence @ 22-26 g ai/ha (26.2-30.9 g/ha) at 0-3 days after sowing.
  • Use 500-750 lts of water per ha. Knap-sack sprayer fitted with fan nozzle is recommended.

Antidote
No specific antidote is known. Treat symptomatically.
Precautions

  • Use good personal hygiene.
  • Do not consume or store food in the work area, wash hands and exposed skin before eating, drinking or smoking and after work.
  • Avoid eye contact. For most conditions, no respiratory protection should be needed.
  • In dusty atmospheres, use an approved particulate respirator.
  • Use chemically resistant gloves and wear clean body covering.
  • Use chemical goggles for eye and face protection.
Mode of Action

  • Kimboo controls target weeds by inhibiting the plant enzyme, Aceto Lactate Synthase (ALS)
  • Inhibition of ALS stops the synthesis of 3 amino acids which are generally active in meristematic tissue (root/shoot tip)
  • It is absorbed by roots and to a lesser extent shoots of germinating seedlings of weeds which prevents them from emerging
  • This affects protein synthesis and cell division ultimately leading to death of the target weed
