Introduction

FOSMITE is a widely trusted contact organo-phosphorous acaricide and insecticide. FOSMITE contains Ethion, one of the oldest and largest selling acaricide and Insecticide in the world, as active ingredient. FOSMITE formulations are applied on the foliage for effective control of Mites, Scales, Thrips, Beetles and Lepidopterous larvae.

Method of Application

  • Use 150 – 200 litre of water volume per acre for effective spray

Antidote
Give atropine sulfate 2 to 4 mg intravenously at 5 to 10-minute intervals until the patient recovers. Administer 2 PAM, 1 to 2 g to be dissolved in 10 cc distilled water and inject intravenously (very slowly) taking 10 to 15 minutes.
Precautions

  • Read & follow all instructions on the label & leaflet carefully.
  • Save the container with the label to show to the physician in case of accidental poisoning.
  • Clean the blocked nozzle by a thin wire or pin but never by blocking the same.
  • Do not smoke, eat or drink during application. In case of any spillage on body, it should be washed with plenty of water.
  • Always change clothing & take bath as soon as the insecticide treatment is over.
  • Wash hands & unprotected body parts before eating, drinking or smoking and after handling.
  • Call a physician immediately if any symptoms of poisoning appear in a person who is using or has recently used this insecticide.
Mode of Action

  • FOSMITE is an Acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, which is responsible for the inhibition of the enzyme Acetylcholinesterase resulting in blockage in the transmission of nerve impulses in insects and mites.
