Introduction

Cosko has active ingredient Chlorantraniliprole, an insecticide of the Ryanoid class. It binds to ryanodine receptors in muscle cells causing the channel to open and release calcium ions (Ca+2) from internal stores into the cytoplasm causing muscle paralysis and ultimately death by starvation of the target pest. Chlorantraniliprole belongs to a new class of selective insecticides featuring a novel mode of action to control a range of Target Pests belonging to the order Lepidoptera and some other pest species.

Method of Application

  • In Rice: 4 kg of Cosko should be mixed with 5-6 kg of sand to make a uniform mixture and broadcasted.
  • Transplanted rice- Within 15-30 DAT.
  • Direct seeded rice-Within 20-30 DAS.
  • Sugarcane: 7.5 kg / acre.0-45 DAP for management of ESB and 1st two broods of Top Borer 0-45 DAP for management of ESB and 1st two broods of Top Borer. 60-120 DAP for Top borer.
  • Water level of 2-3 inches has to be maintained for 5-7 days after.In sugarcane, it should never be thoroughly broadcasted.
  • Directed application/placement towards the root system near furrows/roots Zone is recommended.

Antidote
No specific antidote is known. Treat symptomatically.		 Precautions

  • Keep away from food stuffs, empty food containers and animal feed.
  • Avoid contact with mouth, eyes & skin and inhalation of insecticide.
  • Wash thoroughly the contaminated clothes and body parts after handling.
  • Do not smoke, drink, eat or chew anything while handling.
  • Wear full protective clothing viz. rubber gloves, goggles, eye/face shield while handling.
