Introduction

COLT is a synthetic pyrethroid based insecticide which contains Cypermethrin as active ingredient. It acts as a stomach and contact insecticide

Antidote

No specific antidote is known. treat symptomatically.

Precautions

  • Keep away from children, foodstuff, animal feeds, heat and open flame.
  • Store in a cool and dry place under lock and key.
  • Do not smoke, drink or eat while spraying the insecticide.
  • Avoid inhalation of the mist.
  • Spray the insecticide only in the direction of the wind blowing and not against it so as to prevent the settling of drifts on body.
  • Wear protective clothing like rubber hat, boots, overall, face mask, goggles and hand gloves while spraying the insecticide.
  • Do not spray near fish culture ponds or when bees are active.
  • Do not use an ultra-low volume spray.
  • Do not use in those situations where there is possibility of harming bees, silk worms, fish, livestock, wild birds and animals.
Mode of Action

Cypermethrin is a sodium channel modulator. It is a neurotoxic agent acting through the central nervous system to cause repetitive nerve activity. It is readily absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and by inhalation of fine spray mist.
