Introduction

PB Knot is a mating distruption formulation which is a pliethylene tube supported with aluminum wire contaning Glossyplure as active ingredient (Pink Bollworm Phermone). PB Knot is highly effective for the management of Pink Bollworm (Pectinphora gossyiella) infestation in Cotton. It can be used as an integral component of Integrated Pest Management(IPM) for Pink Bollworm Management in Cotton.

Method of Application

  • Tie by twisiting each dispenser twice on the cotton plant at pin-head stage around 35-40 days after sowing.

Manner of Application:
Part 1 – Borfer Application, 1 rope/meter border length
Part 2 – Filler Application
Distribute remaining ropes evenly in the filed as described below:

1. Twist dispensers twice around the main stem, Dispensers should not be twisted too tightly, which may constrict stem growth.

2. Apply before square formation as moth emergence and egg laying starts at this stage.

3. Dispensers must be applied uniformly throughout the acreage to obtain a reduction in mating and population

Precautions

  • Keep away from foodstuff, empty foodstuff containers and animals feed.
  • Avoid contact with mouth, eyes, and skin. Wash thoroughly the contaminated clothes and parts of the body after using.
  • Do not smoke, drink, eat, and chew anything while using. Wear chemical resistant gloves.
  • Do not contaminate irrigation water, lakes, streams or ponds by disposal of waste.
  • Do not reuse the PB Knot dispenser.
  • Do not cut or open PB Knot dispenser. Do not leave the opened packed of PB Knot unattended
